National poll finds Libertarian with momentum, at 16% in Kent. treasurer race

A poll released by the nationally-respected firm Public Policy Polling finds Libertarian Ken Moellman’s support has grown to 16 percent in his race for Kentucky State Treasurer.

Democrat Todd Hollenbach draws 43 percent, Republican K.C. Crosbie 28 percent and Libertarian Ken Moellman 16 percent.

Moellman is the only candidate drawing virtually evenly from all racial, age and ideological groups.

Moellman picks up 13 percent of the votes of those who self-identified as “Very Liberal”, 12 percent of “Somewhat Liberal”, 17 percent of “Moderate”, 15 percent of “Somewhat Conservative” and 19 percent of “Very Conservative”.

He is the only candidate without a “gender gap,” earning 16 percent of the votes of both women and men.

He is also the only candidate without a racial gap, pulling 15 percent from both blacks and whites.

He earns 13 percent of Democrat votes and 18 percent of Republican votes.

Among independent voters, Moellman is in a statistical tie.  26 percent of independent voters support Moellman, tied with Hollenbach and statistically tied with Crosbie’s 28 percent.
