Penn. LP voter registration breaks record…despite not being listed option

“The Pennsylvania Department of Elections says that as of January 20, 2012, there are 38,220 registered Libertarians in Pennsylvania,” Richard Winger’s Ballot Access News reports.

Why is that news?

“This is the highest number of registered Libertarians in Pennsylvania history, and is doubly surprising because the state removed the party as a choice on the voter registration form several years ago, because it had lost its status as a ‘political party.’”

That shouldn’t be entirely surprising.  As the LNCC has noted, voters are abandoning the Republican and Democrat parties in droves and swelling Libertarian Party ranks.

Can you help give these voters a home, and grow the Libertarian Party?
